ANDOVER After School Program (2024-2025)

 

Exciting News for Andover Middle School Students!

We are thrilled to announce a wonderful opportunity for our middle school children for the 2024-2025 school year. In collaboration with the YMCA of the North and Youth First of Anoka County, we are offering an array of after-school clubs and activities hosted at the Andover Community Center. This initiative is designed to provide fun, enriching experiences, in a safe setting, which foster growth and development outside the traditional classroom setting.
Program Overview:
Our after-school program will feature a variety of clubs and activities that cater to diverse interests. From sports and arts to science and technology, there will be something engaging for every child. These programs not only aim to introduce new hobbies and skills but also to enhance social interactions, teamwork, self-confidence, and personal development.
​Participation Details:

• Eligibility: All children enrolled at Oakview Middle School.

• Schedule: Activities will take place after school hours. Detailed schedules will be shared upon completion of the registration process.

• Cost: The program is free to parents, funded through community support and partnerships.

Safety and Rules:
To ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, we have established a set of ground rules:

1. Sign in and out: Your child signs in and out of the Community Center for safety reasons.

2. Behavior: Respectful and courteous behavior is expected at all times. Posters will be up detailing the expected behavior.

3. Pick-up: Children must be picked up by 5:30 PM each day.

 

Feedback and Preferences:

Your input is invaluable in shaping a program that meets the needs and interests of our students. We are currently conducting a survey to gather feedback on preferred activities and any additional suggestions you might have. This will also allow your child to express their interests and help us tailor the program each semester.

 

ACTION REQUIRED:

Please fill out the survey (click blue "COMPLETE THE SURVEY" button) to register your child and indicate their program preferences.  Once the survey is submitted, you will receive an email stating it was received.  If your child brings in the email (or the completed hard copy of the survey/waiver), they will get a treat at the Community Center.  We encourage you to discuss the available options with your child and complete the survey together.

This partnership represents a significant step forward in our commitment to enhancing the educational and developmental opportunities available to our children. We are excited to see them learn, grow, and thrive through these after-school activities.
